Clare Valley Enterprises has been part of the Clare Valley community for more than 25 years, providing opportunities that support people living with disability to live meaningful, independent and connected lives. As a local not-for-profit organisation, we are proud to support individuals, strengthen communities and create opportunities that make a lasting difference.
Our organisation was founded on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to belong, contribute and reach their full potential. That belief continues to shape everything we do. We recognise that every person has unique strengths, aspirations and talents, and we are committed to creating an environment where those strengths can flourish.
Being local is one of our greatest strengths. We understand the people, businesses and communities that make the
Clare Valley and Mid North unique. Over the years, we have built trusted relationships with local employers, schools, sporting clubs, community organisations, volunteers and businesses who share our vision of creating a more inclusive community. These partnerships create genuine opportunities for people to participate, connect, learn new skills and contribute in meaningful ways.

Our History
Since 1997, Clare Valley Enterprises has been creating opportunities for people living with disability
across the Clare Valley and Mid North.
Our journey began as Mid North Contracts, supporting around 20 people in supported employment. As our community grew and the needs of participants evolved, so did our organisation. We expanded beyond employment to provide a broader range of person-centred supports that enabled people to live independently,
participate in their communities and achieve their goals.
A major milestone came in 2018 with the re-launch of Clare Valley Enterprises and the opening of our purpose-built production facility in Agnes Street, strengthening our commitment to supported employment and
creating opportunities close to home.
In 2019, we expanded our community footprint with the acquisition of The Domain, creating a dedicated hub for
Clare Home & Community Options where participants build independence, develop life skills and
connect with their community.
We have also invested in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes in Clare, supporting participants to
live more independently.
Today, Clare Valley Enterprises is a trusted not-for-profit organisation delivering a wide range of disability supports and services across the region. We are governed by an experienced Board of Directors, whose leadership ensures we remain focused on quality, innovation and positive outcomes for the people we support.
Our connection to the Clare Valley extends beyond disability services. We are proud to support one of the region's most important industries as a Sponsor of the Clare Valley Wine Show, reflecting our commitment to the local winemaking community and the partnerships that help our region thrive.
While much has changed over the past 25 years, our purpose has remained the same—
to create opportunities, strengthen our community and support people to live the life they choose.
Our Board
Clare Valley Enterprises are governed by a Board consisting of seven members who bring extensive knowledge and experience from the wine industry and the community.
Andrew Murphy
President
Andrew is the former Production Director for Yalumba Wines, a six-generation, family owned, Barossa winery. Andrew had been making wine for 35 years and contributes valuable business and strategic insight into our employment and production divisions. Andrew also has personal experience navigating support on behalf of his son, providing the perfect blend of commercial acumen and empathy around disability supports. We are thankful for Andrew's support as a volunteer Director of Barossa Enterprises Inc. since 2010.
Neil White
Vice President
Neil is the former Education Director for the Lower and Mid North SA Schools and commenced on the Barossa Enterprises Inc. Board in 2014. Neil has four decades of experience as an educator and community leader and was Principal at Nuriootpa High School when he was introduced to Barossa Enterprises Inc. through the school’s Inclusive Education Centre (IEC). This was where many of Barossa Enterprises’ supported employees had their first introduction to our services through work experience with Barossa Enterprises Inc. Neil has a family member living independently with NDIS and consequently, brings valuable life experience to the organisation along with expertise in education and personal development.
Lynn Chopping
Secretary
Lynn has been an active member of Barossa Enterprises Inc. with lived experience of support needs of people with disability. Ben, Lynn’s youngest son, was employed at Barossa Enterprises Inc. for 12 years until his passing in 2016. Lynn worked closely with Barossa Enterprises Inc. to develop supports for Ben in Supported Employment and has been closely involved in the social activities offered through Barossa Enterprises Inc. Lynn is an active supporter of Barossa Enterprises, regularly volunteering her time at our production facility and on the Board. She has been a dedicated Board Member since 2011 and is honoured to contribute towards the advancement of Barossa Enterprises Inc.
Joel Wilson
Treasurer
Joel is the Group Accounting Manager at the Yalumba Wine Company, Australia’s oldest family owned winery. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of commercial experience working locally within the Wine Industry. Joel has been an active member of the Barossa community, most recently working with the Angaston Community and Business Alliance Group as the Treasurer. Joel is looking forward to using his experience to support Barossa Enterprises Inc. and the wider community.
Ray Todd
Director
Ray commenced Barossa Bottling in the 1980s supporting a large number of wineries over the 30 years of operation. Ray was a keen supporter of Barossa Enterprises Inc., regularly providing business that kept supported employees in work. Ray sold his business but continues to have a hand, providing valuable consultation. Barossa Enterprises Inc. and Barossa Bottling enjoyed a long and successful working relationship, and we look forward to further developing our products under Ray’s mentorship. Ray has generously provided his time and advice to our operations in the past and we are excited to have this officially established through Ray’s Directorship.
John Hughes
Director
John is the owner of celebrated wine brand, Riesling Freak. He has a strong connection to our operating regions and understands the importance and meaning of ‘community’. John currently serves on a number of not-for-profit committees and is the founder of the Kicking Goals Scholarship program, with Foundation Barossa, providing mentorship and educational funding for young people living with disability. John was awarded the 2017, Young Gun of Wine; 2021 Baron of the Barossa Winemaker & a finalist of the 2021 ASVO Winemaker of the Year Awards. Living with cerebral palsy gives John a personal perspective of how good support can make a difference. John has set aside perceptions instead focussing on his goals and passion for food & wine and is now widely recognised for his commitment to Riesling and his contribution to winemaking. John provides immense value to our developing services.
Annabelle Travaglione
Director
Annabelle is the CEO of Foundation Barossa, a community foundation that encourages community philanthropy to build a resilient, inclusive community where everyone belongs. Foundation Barossa collaborates with organisations and individuals to support community-based projects across the Barossa that address key needs, strengthen local capacity, and create solutions to both opportunities and challenges. The goal is to help build a strong, vibrant community where everyone can participate and contribute and welcomes the opportunity to join the Board of Barossa Enterprises Inc. as she sees is a clear alignment in their core goals and values. Annabelle has over 25 years of experience in financial services Exec. management living and working in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, and Australia. In 2014, she moved into the not-for-profit sector, working for Bear Cottage Children’s Hospice, managing 140 volunteers supporting key operations at the hospice.
