Living a fulfilling life looks different for everyone. At Clare Home & Community Options, our Daily Activities Program is designed around the individual, giving participants the opportunity to develop practical skills, build confidence, make genuine community connections and work towards the goals that matter most to them.

Aligned with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), our program focuses on building capacity rather than simply filling the day. Every activity has a purpose, with opportunities to strengthen independence, increase social and community participation, and develop everyday life skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
A Program Built Around NDIS Outcomes
Our Daily Activities Program has been developed to support participants across seven key areas that reflect the outcomes many people are working towards in their NDIS plans:
Social and community participation
Life skills and independence
Health and wellbeing
Creative expression
Education and lifelong learning
Recreation and leisure
Community contribution and connection
The program framework focuses on building skills, confidence, independence and connecting participants to their community, ensuring every activity has a meaningful purpose beyond simply taking part.
Learning Through Real-Life Experiences
At Clare Home & Community Options, participants learn by doing.

Whether preparing meals, shopping in the community, exploring local businesses or working on creative projects, every experience helps build practical skills that can be used in everyday life.
Participants regularly develop skills in:
Meal planning and healthy cooking
Budgeting and money management
Shopping and making informed purchasing decisions
Food safety and kitchen confidence
Planning and organisation
Problem solving
Communication and teamwork
Decision making
Confidence in community settings
Activities such as grocery shopping, cooking, visiting local businesses and community outings provide opportunities to practice these skills in real environments, helping participants become more confident and independent.
Building Confidence Through Creativity
Creative activities are much more than arts and crafts.
Throughout the program, participants explore sewing, painting, knitting, creative writing, weaving, LEGO® design, stop-motion animation and other hands-on projects that encourage creativity while strengthening important developmental skills.
These activities help participants build:
Fine motor skills
Hand-eye coordination
Concentration
Planning and sequencing
Digital literacy
Self-expression
Confidence completing tasks from beginning to end
Each completed project provides a genuine sense of achievement while encouraging participants to try new experiences and develop confidence in their own abilities.
Connecting with the Community
Community participation is at the heart of our program.

Participants regularly explore the Clare Valley and surrounding areas through visits to shops, cafés, recreation venues, parks and community facilities. They enjoy outings that encourage social interaction, build confidence using community services and develop independence outside the home.
Examples include:
Shopping trips
Community cafés and restaurants
Bowling
Mini golf
Cinema visits
Local tourism experiences
Outdoor recreation
Community events
These experiences help participants develop communication skills, build friendships, increase confidence in unfamiliar environments and become active members of their community.
Developing Skills for Everyday Living
Many participants have goals centred around becoming more independent at home.
The Daily Activities Program provides regular opportunities to build practical daily living skills through activities such as:
Preparing nutritious meals
Learning food storage and food safety
Budgeting for groceries
Following recipes
Outdoor cooking
Household planning
Working safely
Building routines
By practicing these skills regularly in a supportive environment, participants can increase their independence and confidence in everyday life.
Supporting Social Connections
Friendships and belonging are just as important as learning new skills.

Our Friday Fun Days, Social Nights and Weekend Programs provide additional opportunities for participants to connect with others, build relationships and enjoy shared experiences in a welcoming environment.
Activities include:
Team building games
Sports and fitness
Music sessions
Movie outings
Cooking challenges
Games and social events
Community dinners
Weekend adventures
These experiences support improved social confidence, communication, emotional wellbeing and community inclusion while helping participants develop lasting friendships.
Every Activity Has Purpose
Every activity within the Clare Home & Community Options Daily Activities Program is intentionally designed to build capacity and support participants to work towards their goals.
Participants may achieve outcomes such as:
Increased independence in everyday living
Improved communication and social skills
Greater confidence accessing the community
Enhanced daily living and cooking skills
Better decision making and problem solving
