Aligned with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), our program focuses on building capacity rather than simply filling the day. Every activity has a purpose, with opportunities to strengthen independence, increase social and community participation, and develop everyday life skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

A Program Built Around NDIS Outcomes

Our Daily Activities Program has been developed to support participants across seven key areas that reflect the outcomes many people are working towards in their NDIS plans:

  • Social and community participation

  • Life skills and independence

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Creative expression

  • Education and lifelong learning

  • Recreation and leisure

  • Community contribution and connection

The program framework focuses on building skills, confidence, independence and connecting participants to their community, ensuring every activity has a meaningful purpose beyond simply taking part.

Learning Through Real-Life Experiences

At Clare Home & Community Options, participants learn by doing.

Danielle is building her everyday living skills by safely preparing ingredients for homemade hamburgers, developing knife skills, food preparation techniques and confidence in meal preparation.

Whether preparing meals, shopping in the community, exploring local businesses or working on creative projects, every experience helps build practical skills that can be used in everyday life.

Participants regularly develop skills in:

  • Meal planning and healthy cooking

  • Budgeting and money management

  • Shopping and making informed purchasing decisions

  • Food safety and kitchen confidence

  • Planning and organisation

  • Problem solving

  • Communication and teamwork

  • Decision making

  • Confidence in community settings

Activities such as grocery shopping, cooking, visiting local businesses and community outings provide opportunities to practice these skills in real environments, helping participants become more confident and independent.

Building Confidence Through Creativity

Creative activities are much more than arts and crafts.

Throughout the program, participants explore sewing, painting, knitting, creative writing, weaving, LEGO® design, stop-motion animation and other hands-on projects that encourage creativity while strengthening important developmental skills.

These activities help participants build:

  • Fine motor skills

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Concentration

  • Planning and sequencing

  • Digital literacy

  • Self-expression

  • Confidence completing tasks from beginning to end

Each completed project provides a genuine sense of achievement while encouraging participants to try new experiences and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Connecting with the Community

Community participation is at the heart of our program.

Supporting participants to get out, get involved and enjoy all that our community has to offer.
